Carer Support Group

Join an online support group to connect with other carers of a loved one with an eating disorder Australia-wide

Whether your loved one has a diagnosis, or you are concerned about their behaviours around food and/or their appearance, our support groups can help you care for your loved one.

Eating Disorders Families Australia’s (EDFA) National Support Program is accredited to the National Safety and Quality Digital Mental Health Standards.

Our lived experience facilitators:
  • Provide a safe, supportive place for carers to gain support or learn new ways of connecting and caring for a loved one
  • Share knowledge and encouragement
  • Provide hope with stories of recovery

What to expect

  • One-hour groups
  • A relaxed and comfortable space to find support
  • No expectation to share – feel free to come along and listen
  • Run by facilitators with their own experience caring for a loved one with an eating disorder
  • Anonymity if preferred

Carer Wellbeing Event

These events are an opportunity for carers to connect with others in a nurturing group. You’ll leave the event feeling grounded, clear and calm.

We also host these events on the weekend, so that those working have an opportunity to attend!
We’ll do some gentle stretching, leading into a guided meditation, and then have time for a quiet reflection through journaling with some short prompts.
